Jocelyn Silverstein is a junior at Northwest High School and a member of the staff of The JagWire, the school’s online newspaper. She is part of Northwest’s Ulysses honors program and will present her original research project in 2024 prior to graduation. Jocelyn is also a member of the Quill and Scroll Honor Society, which she joined last year. In addition, she has served as an anchor for JagTV, her school’s morning newscast.

Jocelyn enjoys visiting New York City every winter break and loves a good pastrami sandwich on seeded rye. She is a foodie and has an intense interest in exploring her ethnic background. Her interest in writing was sparked by her father, who is a business reporter covering the retail industry. She likes to travel around the world, read and cook. One of her favorite things to do in school is learn French, which she says will make her more knowledgeable about the world and have a greater appreciation of the benefits of being bilingual.
