The second semester has just started for MCPS students and we still have not had any snow days. Last year, a big snow storm hit in the middle of January and we had a whole five days off. Temperatures in the past few weeks have even reached up into the sixties, and today it is February 1st but the temperature is in the fifties. Students often look forward to snow days for a nice, relaxing unexpected break off of school. In many recent years we have had enough snow days to cause them to add days on at the end of the year. We haven’t even had enough snow or ice to call for a two hour delay or early release, yet. With February beginning, students are very hopeful that they will get the chance to have an unexpected break to relax and catch up on school work at some point.
