Easier Yesterday; Harder Today

Walter Sanabria

Ever been at home and your parents are hounding you about going to college and telling you about their past accomplishments. Well hardly do people know that it is harder to get into college than it was during their time colleges like Penn State have had drops in acceptance rates up to 10%.This has occurred overtime and mostly because of the increase in education. Since early 1980’s to 2016’s the amount of young people around 25 that have completed high school this increase means that high school diplomas are getting less valuable due to their influx so now colleges have to look in other areas to better evaluate their students. This means that you as a student have to excel in multiple different areas and specialize in certain subjects unlike your parents causing college itself to cause a multitude of stress. If your stress accumulates this can be bad for your grades and cause health problems that can your grades to fall making you try harder making stress accumulate making this cycle that slowly wears you down.
