Healthcare in America

Healthcare in America

Ellie Wilson

The United States should implement Universal healthcare because in The Declaration of Independence it states that all men have “unalienable Rights among those are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” which  entails having the health care needed to preserve life and pursuit of happiness. Implementing health care would help people lead happier and healthier lives in the United States. Also having universal healthcare could lower the cost of healthcare for everyone else. Besides lowering healthcare costs it could also make medical services more available to the public creating the need for more jobs and stimulating the economy. Healthcare could change many people’s lives and possibly save some, without healthcare people are scared to go to the doctor or hospital and risk medical bankruptcy. Many are also hesitant to start their own businesses due to the fear of losing health care for themselves and their families. With health care these fears would be eliminated saving many lives and promoting the economy. With the issue of healthcare there is also the issue of increasing our debt, but healthcare is for the common good which in the long run is better for the united states. To be able to increase funding for healthcare there are many government funded programs that don’t need as much money as they are budgeted for, cutting their budgets could increase the money for other programs including health care.
