Boys XC

The Northwest boy’s Cross Country team has been having a satisfactory start to the season thus far. Pictured to the right is the varsity boys team, who won their second invitational of the year at the Track and Trail Invitational. Placing 4 runners in the top 10, 5 in top 15, and 6 in top 16. On September 27, 2016 they had their Divisional Championships over at Sherwood High School where Whitman and Einstein also attended. The boys came out on top, finishing their regular season with a record of 6-0-0 and becoming divisional champions. Aside from invitationals, they still have to go on to compete at counties, regionals, and states.

On October 5th, 2016 the team headed over to Winter Place Park in Salisbury, MD. In a turn of events, the bus broke down in Annapolis on the way to the invitational but another bus came to the rescue and they made it to the meet on time. The boys had 6 runners in the top 15 and won the meet with 31 points, just shy of the meet record of 30 points (set by Northwest boys in 2014). This was the 3rd year in a row for the boys team winning this meet and the girls also won the meet for the 4th year in a row. They will head over to Van Cortland Park in New York to race on Saturday, October 8th in one of the largest high school invitationals on the east coast.
