Global Warming -Killing the Earth One Step at a Time

Nhaya Vaidya

Global warming is detrimental to the Earth, whether or not everyone believes it.  The increased temperature of the planet is melting the polar ice caps and destroying the habitats of endangered animals. Millions of people are under the danger of not having access to clean drinking water. Even though there are people who are working towards fixing this problem, there are countless others who do not even believe that this problems is even occurring. Despite the clear facts and hundreds of studies proving that global warming is occurring on a daily basis people turn a blind eye and disagree with it all. The continuation of deforestation of the amazon rainforest  is destroying animals habitats and causing erosion. Not only does it cause habitat loss, but it causes less respiration to occur, resulting in increased carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere. Polar bears have become endangered from the melting polar ice caps; struggling to find food and a safe home. The numbers of polar bears are said to decline by 30% by the year 2050 due to the significant ice loss of the bears homes. Not only does this affect the cold areas it also affects the warmers areas such as California and Mexico. California has been in a massive drought for four years, the worst in 1,200 years. Lakes have dried up, trees are dying, crops shriveled up,  and more forest fires are occurring all due to the lack of water caused by global warming. It a state of emergences, as more and more laws are placed in order to conserve as much water as possible. This all occurs due to the lack of rain coming in, made worse by global warming. There are still people who do not believe that global warming does not exist, including wealthy politicians. A member of Trumps team, even compared climate change to the theory that the Earth is flat. Despite the fact that the earth is not flat, the theory of global warming has not been disproven and the majority of all research studies prove the theory of climate change. All of the facts are clear, global warming does exist and humans are causing it to become a detrimental problem. Humans should be working towards saving the environment in order to insure that the Earth lives a long life, not a short one.
